This is the FY 2025-2026 Paid Holiday Schedule for Budgeted Full Time and Budgeted Part Time Ellis County Employees as was discussed and approved at the Regular Commissioners' Court of Ellis County, Texas held on the 5th day of August 2025.
All of our offices will be closed for these holidays. We will reopen at 8:00 am on the next business day.
As of February 25, 2026, this is the list of the most current road closures in Ellis County. Crews are out now checking roads, and this list will be updated as reports come in. If you see high water crossing the road please notify the County Precinct facility, Sheriff’s office, or your local police department. Stay Safe! Don’t drown, turn around!

The Ellis County Commissioners' Court will consider and act upon a plat application for Toledo Addition, Lots 14R1 & 14R2, Block A, being a replat of Lot 14, Brushy Creek Addition, Section Two, to create one (1) additional lot for a total of two (2) lots. The ± 10.29-acre site is located ± 595 feet southwest of the intersection of Hunsucker Road and Palmyra Road, in the extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ) of the City of Red Oak, Road and Bridge Precinct No. 1. A copy of the replat request is shown below.
This replat will be presented before the Commissioners' Court on Tuesday, March 17th, 2026, at 2:00 PM on the second floor of the historic Ellis County Courthouse, 101 West Main Street, Waxahachie, TX. 75165. Texas State legislature officially established Ellis County on December 20, 1849. Today, Ellis County is home to over 192,000 residents. The County’s total area is 952 square miles, and is comprised of 15 cities, 7 towns, and the unincorporated areas that include Avalon, Forreston, and Telico.
