Ellis County COVID-19 Update - September 16th
According to the case line list provided by Texas Health Trace (THT) for September 16th, today’s report includes a total of 3,914 recoveries in Ellis County. Additionally, there have been a total of 4,069 reported positive COVID-19 cases in Ellis County, including 116 (8 probable and 108 confirmed) active cases. Today’s report from the Texas Department of State Health Services Dashboard (DSHS), remains the same as yesterday’s report of 37,703 tests administered in Ellis County.
The Ellis County Office of Emergency Management through coordination with the State of Texas will be hosting additional FREE COVID-19 Mobile Testing days. Administering an average of 100 tests per day, this testing site provides residents an affordable alternative for COVID-19 testing without the need of insurance or a recommendation from a primary care physician.
These additional testing dates include September 21 & 22 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. each day. GoGetTested (contracted vendor by the Texas Department of State Health Services) is hosting the free testing site at First Baptist Church, 450 E-US 287, Waxahachie, Texas 75165. Residents can schedule a time to get tested at: www.gogettested.com.
Comparison between DSHS Dashboard and THT
Ellis County reports on COVID-19 cases as they are distributed to the Local Health Authority from the Texas Health Trace (THT) platform. In order to uphold transparency, today’s report includes corrections made by the Office of Emergency Management (OEM) in the case line lists received from the State. These corrections include removing duplicated cases, removing case counts that were outside the county’s jurisdiction, and adjusting cases to the appropriate city jurisdiction.
