After attending the 2019 Texas Public Funds Investment Conference held in Houston on November 7-8, Ellis County Commissioner Paul Perry was awarded with 10 hours of completion for course training through the Texas Association of Counties. The Texas Public Funds Investment Conference in partnership with the McCoy College of Business Administration at Texas State University , presents 10 hours of investment education required by the Public Funds Investment Act: Section 2256.008. Ten hours of continuing education credit are available for Public Funds Investment Act Compliance and members of the County Investment Academy. The conference provides in depth instruction on financial operations within Texas county municipalities. Outcomes related to the training include information on government pools, investments permitted under the PFIA, cybersecurity, and investment trends of the U.S economy.
