With recent grass fires, a high load of combustible plant life, along with drought, the Ellis County Commissioners’ Court voted unanimously in their regular December 5th, 2017 meeting to enact a ban on outdoor burning, effective for 90 days. Ellis County Fire Marshal Tim Birdwell was on hand to recommend the ban.
