9-1-1 Addressing is coordinated with the Dept of Development during the permitting process
- Permits are required in unincorporated Ellis County for Structures, Tiny Homes, Septic Systems, Culverts and more
- Contact the Department of Development (Ellis Permits) to confirm permitting requirements for your project and start the permitting process.
Ellis County GIS, in coordination with NCT 9-1-1, manages 9-1-1 Addressing for the following areas:
- Unincorporated Ellis County: Areas not in a City Limits except for the Midlothian ETJ which is handled by Midlothian
- Cities: Alma, Bardwell, Ferris, Garrett, Italy, Milford, Oak Leaf (contact the City First), Palmer, Pecan Hill

- Is your address shown on the map?
- Is the correct address number on the correct structure?
- Are you using the complete correct address?
- Does each house (or other occupied building) have its own unique address number?
- If everything looks good, great.
- If you see a problem, contact our office ASAP so that corrections / updates can be made to the mapping data.
