What is Behavioral Health?
Behavioral Health is a term used to refer to both mental health and substance use. It refers to the connection between a person's behaviors and their mental, emotional, and physical well-being. Behavioral Health includes habits, actions and lifestyle choice that influence health - such as stress management, substance use, eating patterns, sleep and coping skills. It also includes:
- Mental Health Conditions (Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, etc.)
- Substance Use Conditions (Alcohol/Drug misuse, addiction, etc.)
- Physical Health Issues (Poor sleep, chronic stress, etc.)
Why is Behavioral Health Important?
Behavioral Health is important because the way we think, feel and behave has a direct impact on our overall well-being.
